Adult Training

About DMAC Adult Training™: [See all available training.]

Adult training is of a serious nature and is comprised of two main areas of concentration: Personal Development, and Physical Safety. Basic adult training will prepare students to recognize, avoid, and escape from the most common threats to physical safety. Advanced students will be able to demonstrate defenses against punching, kicking, strangulation, body grabs, grappling, blunt objects, projectile weapons, edged weapons, multiple attackers, and any combination of the above. Once a student becomes proficient at the core techniques, they can begin to learn the entire system of techniques, principles, strategies, and tactics.

Adult Students

Adult students come from all walks of life and are encouraged to be courteous, helpful and inviting to new students and other classmates. Adult students range in age from young adults to retirees. A typical Adult student will train two to three times a week after school or work in the evenings. All students are required to wear appropriate training attire which consists of a white uniform, and a colored belt that corresponds with their rank. An actively training adult student will stand out among his/her peers because of their confidence, character and above average physical condition for their age.

What adults can expect

DMAC instructors are responsible for providing opportunities for an adult student's constant personal development in the areas of physical fitness and personal safety. All training is provided with one thought in mind: "Do what is in the best interest of the student." Instructors are always available to answer questions regarding a student's progress, strengths and challenges. For some, the adult training environment becomes a second family, a place where they may form relationships that last a lifetime.

Adults over the age of 14 are welcome to take advantage of our $20 Unlimited Training trial offer prior to making the decision to commit to training. A uniform is required for members and all training received counts toward your first rank promotion. Please check our schedule for class times and directions or contact us directly by clicking here.

Note from the Chief Instructor:

Adult training is geared toward real world self defense scenarios and the psychological and physical conditioning that those situations require. Students of good character are slowly developed to meet the requirements of each successive stage of training. At no time do we train, teach or accept machismo, sadism, backbiting, cliques or any other ego driven childishness. Only people of good character will be accepted into the adult training program.
